OBA manufacture slot and stator wedges to customer requirements, from the standard single angle on both sides to complex vented & slotted wedges for rotating machines. Along with standard slot and stator wedge OBA also have the ability to make to order according to precise customer requirements.

GENERAL

Wedges can be made from a number of material from the oldest and simplest- Wooden slot sticks to Fully machined wedges for large machines in sophisticated materials.
OBA can supply from stock or manufacture most combinations that may be required and we list below some of the more common types. If we do not list the wedge you need please contact you nearest OBA office.

WOODEN SLOT STICKS GENERAL

Wood wedges are made from Fijian Cedar in a semi-circular form. The standard method of supply is in bundles as follows:

Sizes 3.2 to 12.7mm

Slot stick length 600mm

Bundle length 100M

MANUFACTURED WEDGES GENERAL

Wedges can be made to your specifications, by OBA, using Bakelite (Paper & Fabric), polyester glass (GPO3), epoxy glass (G10 & G11), Epoxy Phenolic Laminate, Magnetic Laminate or other materials.

We provide on the following page an enquiry form which list typical shapes with spaces for material, dimensions, and quantity. If the profile is not shown please contact your nearest OBA office.

Due to the wide variety of Manufactured Wedges insofar as Material and dimensions are concerned, all manufactured wedges are “made to order”.

As part of quality control process, initially we supply 3 samples – A, B, C. These are the size specified, under size and oversized. The wedges supplied will be once a selection for fit is made. .
